    Question 71

    THE SECOND PART, OF MANS DELIVERIE

    1. Where dooth Christ promise vs that hee will as certainlie wash vs with his bloode and spirite, as wee are washed with the water of baptisme?

      In the institution of Baptisme; the wordes whereof are these: Goe and teach all Nations, Baptising them in the name of the father, the sonne, and the holy Ghost. He that shall beleeue and be baptised, shall bee saued: but he that will not beleeue, shal bee damned. This promise is repeated againe, whereas the Scripture calleth Baptisme, the washing of the new birth, and forgiuenesse of sinnes.
